Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Nonparametric Estimation and Symmetry Tests for Conditional Density Functions. [PDF]

open access: yes
We suggest two new methods for conditional density estimation. The first is based on locally fitting a log-linear model, and is in the spirit of recent work on locally parametric techniques in density estimation.

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

STUDYING THE BANDWIDTH EFFECTS IN NON PARAMETRIC K–SAMPLE TESTS ESTUDIO SOBRE LOS EFECTOS DEL PARÁMETRO DE SUAVIZADO EN CONTRASTES NO PARAMÉTRICOS PARA K–MUESTRAS

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2008
The election of the smoothing parameter or bandwidth is, probably, the most important concern in the statistical smoothed techniques. The relevance of this parameter, on the obtained results difficult, the use of these methods in statistical inference ...

ks: Kernel Density Estimation and Kernel Discriminant Analysis for Multivariate Data in R

open access: yes
Kernel smoothing is one of the most widely used non-parametric data smoothing techniques. We introduce a new R package ks for multivariate kernel smoothing.

Nonparametric confidence bands in deconvolution density estimation [PDF]

open access: yes
Uniform confidence bands for densities f via nonparametric kernel estimates were first constructed by Bickel and Rosenblatt [Ann. Statist. 1, 1071.1095].
