This article presents a hybrid metal‐dielectric metasurface in transmission mode for mid‐infrared (MIR) spectroscopy. Composed of germanium on aluminium cylinders atop a calcium fluoride substrate, the metasurface achieves 80% transmission efficiency at λ = 2.6 µm with a narrow full‐width‐half‐maximum of 0.4 µm.

Bandwidth Selection in Kernel Density Estimation
In kernel density estimation, the most crucial step is to select a proper bandwidth (smoothing parameter). There are two conceptually different approaches to this problem: a subjective and an objective approach. In this report, we only consider the objective approach, which is based upon minimizing an error, defined by an error criterion.

Fiber Bragg Gratings with Micro‐Engineered Temperature Coefficients
Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are intrinsically responsive to temperature and strain simultaneously. In this research, low‐loss FBGs with micro‐engineered temperature coefficients are fabricated, utilizing refractive index liquid‐filled microchannels in the cladding.
