The Blacklisting Memory Scheduler: Balancing Performance, Fairness and Complexity [PDF]
In a multicore system, applications running on different cores interfere at main memory. This inter-application interference degrades overall system performance and unfairly slows down applications.

A Guide to Machine Learning Epistemic Ignorance, Hidden Paradoxes, and Other Tensions
ABSTRACT Machine learning (ML) has rapidly scaled in capacity and complexity, yet blind spots persist beneath its high performance façade. In order to shed more light on this argument, this paper presents a curated catalogue of 175 unconventional concepts, each capturing a paradox, tension, or overlooked risk in modern ML practice.

Dynamic routing balancing on InfiniBand network
InfiniBand (IBA) technology was developed to address the performance issues associated with messages movement among Endnodes and computer I/O devices. However, InfiniBand is also widely deployed within high performance computing (HPC) clusters due to the

Low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) experience the highest rates of injury‐related deaths globally, exacerbated by a lack of robust emergency medical services (EMS). Though fractures contribute substantially to global injury, little is known about prehospital management of extremity fractures in LMICs.

Design of Waveguide NbN‐Based Superconductor–Insulator–Superconductor Mixer for 650 GHz
This research work focuses on a waveguide NbN‐based superconductor–insulator–superconductor mixer operating at 650 GHz. The signal coupling circuit is designed using a waveguide‐microstrip coupling structure, and the return loss obtained is lower than −16 dB. For the mixing circuit, its return loss is less than −7.5 dB, and the return loss reduces with

A Novel Design Technique for Ultrawideband Shared Aperture Connected Dipole Arrays
ABSTRACT This paper presents comprehensive circuit models for the design and analysis of ultrawideband shared aperture antenna arrays. A novel semi‐analytical approach is developed by modifying the previous equivalent circuit model to enable the calculation of the electromagnetic (EM) transparency of dipole array unit cells.

The Network Effects of Prefetching [PDF]
Prefetching has been shown to be an effective technique for reducing user perceived latency in distributed systems. In this paper we show that even when prefetching adds no extra traffic to the network, it can have serious negative performance effects ...
