The Food Sources in Western Diets Modulate Obesity Development, Insulin Sensitivity, and the Plasma and Cecal Metabolome in Mice

Mice were fed isocaloric western diets based on egg and dairy, terrestrial meat, game meat, marine, vegetarian, or a mixture of all. Marine and vegetarian‐based diets protect mice from obesity development and reduced insulin sensitivity, while meat‐based diets promote obesity.
