Real effects of bank competition [PDF]

open access: yes
Does banking market power contribute to the formation of non-financial industries populated by few, large firms, or does it instead enhance industry entry? Theoretical arguments could be made to support either side. The banking industry of European Union

Parasitic Plant–Host Interactions: Molecular Mechanisms and Agricultural Resistance Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Parasitic plants devastate global agriculture through sophisticated molecular interactions with host crops. This review synthesizes current understanding of parasitic plant‐host interactions, from strigolactone‐mediated germination and haustorium formation to host defense mechanisms.

Trackable Tolerogenic Macrophages Integrate PD‐L1 and Rapamycin Signaling to Suppress Alloimmune Responses in Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a macrophage‐based therapeutic platform, termed trackable tolerogenic macrophages (TTM), for dual‐function immunomodulation and visualization in vivo. TTM cells were engineered to overexpress PD‐L1, incorporate bioorthogonal cell surface tags, and load rapamycin for sustained release.

The Regulation Framework for the Banking Sector: The EMU, European Banks and Rating Agencies before and during the Recent Financial and Debt Crisis

open access: yesEIRP Proceedings, 2012
A regulation framework for the banking sector should be characterised by transparency, responsibility and performance in several important areas. These areas are the global and Europeanframework for corporate financial reporting (CFR), risk management (RM)

Selective Targeting of Immune Checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 Using Novel Dual Signaling Protein DSP216 Promotes Innate Anticancer Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The inhibitory immune checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 are expressed on certain tumor types and inhibit immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. DSP216 binds specifically to cancer cells expressing both HLA‐G and CD47, and blocks their inhibitory signaling.

Foreign bank entry - experience, implications for developing countries, and agenda for further research [PDF]

open access: yes
In recent years, foreign bank participation has increased tremendously in several developing countries. In Argentina, Chile, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, for example, more than fifty percent of banking assets are now in foreign-controlled ...

Dorsal Raphe VIP Neurons Are Critical for Survival‐Oriented Vigilance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DRNVIP neurons in mice and primates are strategically positioned to influence the central extended amygdala via feedback loops. They regulate the excitability of PKC‐δ neurons in the ovBNST and CeA through glutamate release. Their ablation heightens activity in these regions, disrupts active‐phase sleep architecture, enhances risk assessment behaviors ...

Sustained inflation in response to price liberalization [PDF]

open access: yes
The author demonstrates that sustained inflation is a predictable response to price liberalization in the countries of the former Soviet Union. The author models the phenomenon in a dynamic macroeconomic framework, and demonstrates the immediate price ...

Pressure‐Induced Structural and Magnetic Evolution in Layered Antiferromagnet YbMn2Sb2

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Pressure tunes the delicate balance between structure, magnetism, and electronic states in quantum materials. In YbMn2Sb2, high‐pressure X‐ray and neutron diffraction reveal a trigonal‐to‐monoclinic transition near 3.5 GPa, accompanied by unconventional magnetic ordering.
