A Nearctic species whose adults and nymphs are usually found on Rodentia: Castoridae, although those stages have also been collected from Carnivora: Mustelidae, and Rodentia: Cricetidae. Undetermined stages have been recovered from Rodentia: Felidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Little et al. 2018).

2020Machiloides banksi Silvestri, 1911 The very short urosternites and lack of scalges on basal antennal segments place these specimens in the family Meinertellidae, and the presence of styli on the coxae of both the meso- and metathoracic legs places them in the genus Machiloides Silvestri.
