Here we report the results of fine resolution Y chromosomal analyses (Y-SNP and Y-STR) of 267 Bantu-speaking males from three populations located in the southeast region of Africa. In an effort to determine the relative Y chromosomal affinities of these three genotyped populations, the findings are interpreted in the context of 74 geographically and ...

Syphilis of the lung in bantus
British Journal of Tuberculosis and Diseases of the Chest, 1945Summary Four native patients, believed to have syphilis of the lung, are described. They all improved rapidly on anti-syphilitic treatment although without exception they had been ill for many months before. The condition is probably less uncommon among the Bantus than among white races, for they still acquire florid forms of syphilis.

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1971
This paper describes five patients who had Bantu siderosis and who suffered shock, for which there was no obvious cause, shortly before death. It is considered that the condition is closely analogous to that occurring in idiopathic hemochromatosis. The theory that the shock is caused by extremely high serum iron levels is examined and considered to be ...
