Two‐Dimensional Accuracy of Provisional Laminate Veneers Designed Using Two Digital Smile Design Platforms and Fabricated by Additive and Subtractive Manufacturing

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 8, Page 1574-1585, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate and compare the two‐dimensional (2D) accuracy of provisional laminate veneer restorations designed using two digital smile design platforms and fabricated through additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques within a standardized digital workflow.

Dehydration‐driven organization of metabolites into NaDES‐like assemblies in orthodox seeds

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 3, Page 1172-1187, August 2026.
Summary Desiccation tolerance in plants, especially during orthodox seed dehydration, relies on compatible solute accumulation, complex molecular mechanisms, and intermolecular organizations that remain poorly understood. We combined metabolite profiling, mass spectrometry imaging, and electrospray and cold‐spray ionization mass spectrometry to ...

Natural variation in OsMYB305 downregulating cytokinin‐mediated inhibition of leaf senescence contributes to regional adaptation in rice

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 4, Page 1873-1888, August 2026.
Proposed regulatory model of OsMYB305 in leaf senescence. Summary Accumulating evidence has identified transcription factors (TFs) as key regulators of the onset and progression of leaf senescence. However, the regulatory role of the rice myeloblastosis (MYB) TF OsMYB305 in this process remains largely unknown.

Clinical Outcomes of Bone‐Anchored Versus Socket‐Suspended Prostheses in Individuals With Transfemoral Amputation: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Two‐Arm Comparative Studies

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 8, Page 1545-1562, August 2026.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis compared bone‐anchored prostheses (BAP) and socket‐suspended prostheses (SSP) in individuals with transfemoral amputation (TFA) using only two‐arm comparative studies. Across 12 studies (BAP n = 200; SSP n = 244), no significant differences were found in mobility, quality of life, or gait.

A Modified Cas9 Scaffold Allows Extension of the Virus‐Induced Gene Editing Technology to the Large Potyvirus Genus

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 8, Page 4933-4947, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant viruses are recognized as rapid and effective vectors to deliver CRISPR‐Cas reaction components into plants, a strategy termed virus‐induced gene editing (VIGE). However, VIGE is limited by the host range of the viral vectors. Development of new viral vectors to target a broad range of plant species will potentially enable the delivery ...
