Flotation separation of barite from calcite using acidified water glass as the depressant
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2019Flotation separation of the barite from calcite by adding depressant acidified water glass (AWG) and collector sodium oleate (NaOl) was investigated in this study.

Abstract Five barites from North America were analyzed for the abundance and isotopic composition of Kr and Xe in an attempt to find 131Xe anomalies from the capture of epithermal neutrons on 130Ba. Excess 131Xe was found in two of the samples, 118B from Pea Ridge Mine of Sullivan, Missouri, and 119B from Franklin, New Jersey.

Precipitation of barite by marine bacteria: A possible mechanism for marine barite formation
Geology, 2012Barite (BaSO 4 ) is found throughout the ocean, yet seawater is undersaturated with respect to barite, and organisms that could account for the abundance of barite have not yet been identifi ed. The mechanism for barite formation in seawater is not fully understood.

Photoelastic properties of barite
Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A, 1951All the 12 elasto-optic constants of barite have been determined and the values obtained for λ 5893 are $$\begin{gathered} p_{11} = 0 \cdot 21 p_{44} = 0 \cdot 002 p_{12} = 0 \cdot 25 p_{23} = 0 \cdot 19 \hfill \\ p_{22} = 0 \cdot 24 p_{55} = 0 \cdot 012 p_{13} = 0 \cdot 16 p_{31} = 0 \cdot 275 \hfill \\ p_{33} = 0 \cdot 31 p_{66} = 0 \cdot 037 p_ ...
