A black shale protolith for gold-tellurium mineralisation in the Dalradian Supergroup (Neoproterozoic) of Britain and Ireland [PDF]
The Dalradian Supergroup of Britain and Ireland is mineralised by gold-tellurium vein deposits. The host succession includes carbonaceous, pyritic shales (pelites) which were a source of trace elements, including gold and tellurium.

A speculum of chymical practice: Isaac Newton, Martin Lister (1639 −1712), and the making of telescopic mirrors [PDF]
In 1674 the natural philosopher and physician Martin Lister published a new method of making glass of antimony for telescopic mirrors, using Derbyshire cawk or barite as a flux.

Dissolution of barite using coordination chemistry: Optimization and characterization
This work included two different types of dissolving process (inorganic and organic) which used for the complete dissolving barium sulfate (barite). The inorganic solvents were involved digestion on hotplate with recipe of mixture acids with hydrogen ...

Occurrence and distribution of barite in the permo-triassic siksikpuk formation along the Brooks Range haul road [PDF]
Barite commonly occurs in Permian to Triassic age rocks along the north flank of the Brooks Range. The Siksikpuk Formation (Wolfcampian to lowest Guadalupian age) is noted for its barite and is well exposed in the vicinity of Galbraith Lake along the ...

Utilization of flotation in copper extraction from polymetallic ore [PDF]
The aim of this study was to examineflotation of utility metals from poor polymetallic ores and verify the potential for profitable yields in connection withpotentially economic deposits of non-ferrous metals. The paper describes results in ...

Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

The effect of CO2-3 on the growth of barite {001} and {210} surfaces: An AFM study [PDF]
The growth of barite {001} and {210} faces from aqueous solutions moderately supersaturated with respect to barite (βbarite ≈ 12 for experiments on {001} surfaces and βbarite ≈ 7 for experiments on {210} surfaces) and bearing different concentrations of ...

Two microemulsion‐based drilling fluids incorporating SSRP were formulated using pine oil, the nonionic surfactant Alkonat L100W, and a glycerol/water solution. The results provide valuable insights into how surfactant‐assisted microemulsion systems can be engineered to enhance the performance and eco‐efficiency of drilling fluids.
