Tracer testing assessed hydraulics and nitrate removal in three full‐scale agricultural drainage treatment wetlands over 3.5 years (three tests). The first test showed rapid, short‐circuited flow and low residence time. After modifying the collection system, the second test increased residence time from 1 to 7 days.

Gait analysis for functional evaluation in a surgical hindlimb suspension model of muscle atrophy
Abstract figure legend Gait analysis reveals neuromuscular dysfunction following hindlimb suspension and partial recovery after reloading. Schematic overview of the experimental design and principal findings. Mice underwent 14 days of hindlimb suspension (HLS), resulting in muscle atrophy marked by reduced fiber size, satellite cell loss, and decreased

ABSTRACT The properties and aggregations of anionic surfactants change strongly in the presence of multivalent cations. Therefore, the knowledge of the binding of multivalent metal ions to the headgroups of anionic surfactants can be helpful for the applications of surfactants in various fields. This paper presents an analysis of the interactions of 14

Surfactant‐Enhanced Electrospun Nanofiber Filters for Efficient Viral and Bacterial Inactivation
In this work, electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibrous filters functionalized with surfactants (CTAB, CPC, and SDS) were developed for air filtration applications. The PAN nanofiber mats enable efficient particulate matter capture while simultaneously providing antimicrobial and antiviral activity against bacteria (E. coli and S.

ABSTRACT Plant‐based proteins, such as soybean meal (SBM), have shown promising results in cultured species but also present challenges due to their nutrient composition and inherent antinutritional factors. This study investigated how the replacement of solvent‐extracted SBM with low oligosaccharide soybean meal (LSBM) or enzyme‐treated soybean meal ...

A novel erythropoietin (EPO) promoter mutation (c.‐136 G>A) causes autosomal dominant erythrocytosis via non‐renal expression of EPO. ABSTRACT We previously reported a five‐generation kindred with autosomal dominant erythrocytosis associated with a novel germline promoter variant in the erythropoietin (EPO) gene (EPO c.‐136 G>A).

Limited evidence exists synthesizing the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) associated with the concomitant administration of multiple nephrotoxic drugs, and even less examining the concept of nephrotoxic burden. The objective of this scoping review was to (1) identify definitions of nephrotoxic burden; (2) methods used to quantify (use of calculations)

ABSTRACT Background Cancer cachexia is a muscle wasting syndrome that occurs in ~80% of cancer patients and is the primary cause of death for 22%–30% of cancer patients. The primary challenge associated with cancer cachexia is that effective therapies to treat the associated muscle loss and dysfunction are lacking.
