Risk of Retinopathy Associated with Long‐Term Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We aimed to estimate the prevalence and cumulative incidence of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (HCQ‐R) and its risk factors among long‐term HCQ users with rheumatic diseases through a systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies that used spectral‐domain OCT (SD‐OCT) for screening. Methods A systematic search of PubMed, Scopus,

Method Research on Determination of Barium Sulfate in Barite by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2017
X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF) can be used to rapidly determine the total content of barium in barite. However, the barium carbonate included in the total barium will result in inaccurate results of barium sulfate. Moreover, copper, lead, zinc and

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Synthesis of barium sulfate in the variation of temperature and additive concentration

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Barium sulfate (BaSO4) with fine sizes is important for many applications. Barium Sulfate (BaSO4) is suitable for applications as diverse as whiteness, inertness and high density.

The intestinal expulsion of the roundworm Ascaris suum is associated with eosinophils, intra-epithelial T cells and decreased intestinal transit time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Ascaris lumbricoides remains the most common endoparasite in humans, yet there is still very little information available about the immunological principles of protection, especially those directed against larval stages.

A Smart Bio‐Battery Facilitates Diabetic Bone Defect Repair Via Inducing Macrophage Reprogramming and Synergistically Modulating Bone Remodeling Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel implantable bio‐battery, GF‐OsG, tailored for diabetic bone repair. GF‐OsG generates microcurrents in high‐glucose conditions to enhance vascularization, shift macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and regulate immune responses.

Dissolution of barite using coordination chemistry: Optimization and characterization

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2023
This work included two different types of dissolving process (inorganic and organic) which used for the complete dissolving barium sulfate (barite). The inorganic solvents were involved digestion on hotplate with recipe of mixture acids with hydrogen ...

Method prevents secondary radiation in radiographic inspection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Thin-walled neoprene containers prevent secondary radiation, scatter, and undercut during radiographic inspection. The containers are filled with a mixture of barium sulfate, red lead, and petroleum jelly that achieves the required absorption ...

Spin‐Dependent Generation of Surface‐Bound Radicals Toward Selective and Long‐Lasting Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel atomic engineering strategy to fine‐tune the spin state of α‐Fe2O3 catalysts toward a medium‐spin state, thereby modulating peroxymonosulfate activation and selectively yielding surface‐bound radicals. Compared with free radicals, surface‐bound radicals exhibit moderated oxidation potential, extended lifespan, surface ...
