Protein component of two isolates of barley yellow dwarf virus
Virology, 1977Abstract A single major protein was identified in preparations of the MAV and RPV isolates of barley yellow dwarf virus in tests based on SDS gel electrophoresis. The molecular weight of each protein was measured in experiments using a series of gels of different acrylamide concentrations.

Characterization of barley yellow dwarf virus subgenomic RNAs
2018Transcription of subgenomic RNAs (sgRNAs) is a common strategy used by many positive strand RNA viruses of plants and animals to regulate viral gene expression. Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) produces three nested 3'-coterminal subgenomic RNAs in infected cells. SgRNA1 serves as the messenger for the structural and movement proteins. sgRNA2 encodes a

Wheat resistome in response to barley yellow dwarf virus infection
Functional & Integrative Genomics, 2013Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) caused one of the most serious virus diseases of wheat (Triticum aestivum) worldwide. The wheat-Thinopyrum intermedium translocation line YW642 carries BYDV resistance gene Bdv2. To explore resistant wheat resistome in response to BYDV infection, we used Affymetrix GeneChip® Wheat Genome Arrays to analyze transcriptomes

Interaction between isolates of barley yellow dwarf virus
New Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, 1963Abstract 1. Some isolates of barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) differing in vector transmission characteristics and in host plant reactions were studied in single and mixed inoculations in glass-house trials. 2. The symptoms obtained depended on the isolate of BYDV, and the interval between the protective and test inoculation and the variety of host ...

Genetic analysis of resistance in barley to barley yellow dwarf virus
Plant Breeding, 2000AbstractThe inheritance of resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) was studied in the selected 24 spring and winter barley cultivars that showed a high or intermediate resistance level in 1994‐97 field infection tests. The polymerase chain reaction diagnostic markers YLM and Ylp were used to identify the resistance gene Yd2.

Three inbred lines of maize (33-16, MO17 and B73) differing in their susceptibility to Barley yellow dwarf virus and Maize dwarf mosaic virus were studied to compare the ultrastructural modifications induced by the two viruses in leaf tissues of different age.

INTEGRATED CONTROL OF CEREAL APHIDS/BARLEY YELLOW DWARF VIRUS
1986The cereal aphids Rhopalosiphum padi (L.) and Sitobion a venae (F.) cause spread of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus in autumn sown crops over the winter. Control is achieved by correctly timed insecticide applications, commonly synthetic pyrethroids. Polyphagous predators contribute to the natural control of these aphids.
