Anomalous barocaloric effect in solid magnetic materials
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2011In this paper, we systematically discuss the barocaloric effect in solid magnetic materials undergoing both second and first order phase transition. For this purpose, we use a model of localized magnetic moments, including the magnetoelastic coupling and the Zeemann interaction.

Barocaloric effect in metamagnetic shape memory alloys
physica status solidi (b), 2014AbstractWe report on calorimetric measurements under hydrostatic pressure in a series of composition related metamagnetic shape memory alloys. We show that metamagnetic shape memory alloys exhibit a barocaloric effect whose magnitude compares well to the magnetocaloric effect exibited by this kind of alloys.

Barocaloric effects in barium-dicalcium propionate salts
2020Fluid refrigerants used in vapour-compression cooling systems such as air conditioners and fridges contribute to environmental damage. Should barium dicalcium organic salts show persistent entropy changes under pressure that are reversible, they may serve as environmentally friendly solid-state barocaloric cooling materials.

Barocaloric and magnetocaloric effects in La(Fe0.89Si0.11)13
Journal of Applied Physics, 2008In this paper we calculate the barocaloric and the magnetocaloric effects under applied pressure in the compound La(Fe0.89Si0.11)13. We use a microscopical model in the framework of the band theory of magnetism, where the Coulomb interaction between itinerant electrons is treated in the mean field approach.
