ABSTRACT Background Mechanical power (MP) and dynamic compliance (Cdyn) are key determinants of ventilator‐induced lung injury (VILI) and mortality. This study aimed to identify variables associated with MP and Cdyn and evaluate their impact on mortality and ventilator‐free days (VFD) in critically ill children with cancer.

Diabetes and Delayed Wound Healing: Molecular Mechanisms and Dermatological Interventions
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a global burden that affects wound healing at nearly every stage, transforming what should be a coordinated and self‐limited repair process into a chronic, non‐healing state. In diabetic patients, sustained hyperglycemia drives persistent inflammation, impaired angiogenesis, fibroblast dysfunction and extracellular matrix ...

Mechanism of Cardiac Arrest in Fatal Anaphylaxis
This population‐based retrospective cohort study of clinical deterioration in anaphylaxis deaths identifies bronchospasm as the preponderant cause of cardiac arrest, especially in food and drug allergen exposures. The clinical implication is that anaphylaxis guidelines require appropriate emphasis on respiratory involvement and treatment to prevent ...

This systematic review and meta‐analysis assessed the association between pulse wave velocity (PWV) and the mortality and morbidity in chronic kidney disease. An increase of every 1 m/s in aortic PWV was associated with a higher risk of all‐cause mortality (16%), cardiovascular mortality (36%), and cardiovascular disease (20%).

Anesthetic Management of a Patient With Post‐Intubation Tracheal Stenosis: Use of V‐V ECMO
ABSTRACT A 34‐year‐old woman with severe post‐intubation tracheal stenosis underwent successful tracheal resection under V‐V ECMO, highlighting its utility in high‐risk airway obstruction. Multidisciplinary teamwork and staged anesthetic protocols further improved peri‐operative safety and patient outcomes.

Across 246,542 surgical patients, perioperative SGLT2 inhibitor use was associated with a lower odds of acute kidney injury and mortality. In contrast, ketoacidosis outcomes (DKA and euglycemic ketoacidosis) showed no statistically significant difference overall, but appeared more frequent in selected sensitivity and subgroup analyses, consistent with ...

Avoid Sacrificing Nature to Truly Achieve Net Zero
ABSTRACT Governments globally have committed to Nature Positive, measurable gains in ecosystem health, and Net Zero, a balance where greenhouse gas emissions are equal to the emissions removed from the atmosphere, thereby addressing the interconnected crises of biodiversity loss and climate change.

Ventilator‐Induced Lung Injury: Mechanotransduction and Potential Therapeutic Targets
Mechanical ventilation (MV) is expected to undergo significant transformative advancements by 2050, with the emergence of personalized ventilation systems that promise to revolutionize respiratory care. However, the risk of ventilator‐induced lung injury (VILI) remains a significant concern at this stage and VILI still exists at that time.
