Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Vers la construction d’un capital environnemental par la lutte contre un projet d’aménagement ? Le barrage de Loyettes (Rhône-Alpes)

open access: yesDéveloppement Durable et Territoires, 2017
The Loyettes dam, planned on the Upper Rhône River, is one of the first dams to have been cancelled in France; the project was blocked during the legal public enquiry in 1982 before being completely abandoned in 1990.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Performance Evaluation of Different Stilling Basins Downstream of Barrage Using FLOW-3D Scour Models

open access: yesHydrology, 2023
The present study investigated the performance of three different stilling basins, i.e., modified United State Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) Type III, USBR Type II, and wedge-shaped baffle blocks (WSBB), using FLOW-3D scour models.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Barrage formation is independent from heterokaryon incompatibility in Verticillium dahliae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Barrage formation has been traditionally used for the assessment of mycelial compatibility in many fungi and has often been assumed to represent a non-self recognition phenotype that is directly associated with vegetative incompatibility in these ...
