Abstract Current observations show that a significant fraction of the Universe is composed of dark energy and dark matter. In this paper, the simultaneous effects of these dark sectors on the Euler–Heisenberg black hole are investigated, using the quintessence matter field and perfect fluid to model them. In particular, the black hole's thermodynamics,

Bar Fraction in Early- and Late-type Spirals [PDF]
Bar fractions depend on the properties of the host galaxies, which are closely related to the formation and evolution of bars. However, observational studies do not provide consistent results. We investigate the bar fraction and its dependence on the properties of the host galaxies by using three bar classification methods: visual inspection, ellipse ...

Bar rejuvenation in S0 galaxies? [PDF]
Based on the colour measurements from a multi-band, multi-component 2D decomposition's of S0 and spiral galaxies using SDSS images, we found that bars are bluer in S0 galaxies compared to the spiral galaxies. Most of the S0s in our sample have stellar masses $\sim L_{*}$ galaxies.

Companions of Bright Barred Shapley Ames Galaxies
Companion galaxy environment for a subset of 78 bright and nearby barred galaxies from the Shapley Ames Catalog is presented. Among spiral barred galaxies there are Seyfert galaxies, galaxies with circumnuclear structures, galaxies not associated with ...

Explorations in Hubble Space: A Quantitative Tuning Fork [PDF]
In order to establish an objective framework for studying galaxy morphology, we have developed a quantitative two-parameter description of galactic structure that maps closely on to Hubble's original tuning fork.

Multicolor Photometry of Barred Spiral Galaxies [PDF]
B – V and R – I color maps (from CCD imagery obtained at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory) of six barred spiral galaxies have been used (Horst 1992) to investigate stellar populations within the bars and nuclei. Two-color diagrams show that the distribution of pixel colors largely parallels the expected locus for normal unreddened stars. If the “

Abstract As part of the Apollo Next‐Generation Sample Analysis (ANGSA) program, we provide bulk composition, mineralogy, petrology, and noble gas assays of lunar particles and soils from the top half of the 73001/2 double‐drive tube (i.e., 73002) studied by the ANGSA consortium.

The CO-to-H2 Conversion Factor in the Barred Spiral Galaxy M83
We analyze the CO-to-H _2 conversion factor ( α _CO ) in the nearby barred spiral galaxy M83. We present new H i observations from the VLA and single-dish GBT in the disk of the galaxy, and combine them with maps of CO(1-0) integrated intensity and dust ...

How Nested Bars Enhance, Modulate, and Are Destroyed by Gas Inflows
Gas flows in the presence of two independently rotating nested bars remain not fully understood but are likely to play an important role in fueling the central black hole.

Bar Diagnostics in Edge-On Spiral Galaxies. I. The Periodic Orbits Approach
We develop diagnostics to detect the presence and orientation of a bar in an edge-on disk, using its kinematical signature in the position-velocity diagram (PVD) of a spiral galaxy observed edge-on.
