Stellar Populations in the Barred Spiral Galaxy NGC 4900 [PDF]
We present OASIS observations obtained at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope for the SB(rs)c galaxy NGC 4900. About 800 spectra in the wavelength range 4700-5500 AA and 6270- 7000 AA have been collected with a spatial resolution of ~50 pc. This galaxy is

Modular Tunable α‐Helical Peptide Hydrogels for Neuronal Cells
Rationally designed peptides are used to alter the elastic properties of α‐helical hydrogels, to introduce adhesion peptides and growth factors, and to spatially pattern proteins. The modularity of the hydrogelating self‐assembling fiber (hSAF) system provides a flexible platform for manipulating primary neural cell behavior, with potential future ...

Is NGC 4631 a barred spiral galaxy?
High- and low-dispersion optical spectra of the giant H II region CM 67 near the center of the edge-on galaxy NGC 4631 have been obtained. Comparisons are made with radio observations to suggest the existence of a large bar in NGC 4631. Region CM 67 is shown to coincide in position with the easternmost peak of a triple radio-continuum source.

We investigate the morphological and structural evolution of disk galaxies in simulations for a wide range of Toomre’s Q parameters. In addition to the inspection of conventional bar modes, we compute the concentration, asymmetry, and clumpiness (CAS ...

The morphology of the stars, atomic gas, and ionized gas in the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1530
We present observations of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1530 that we use to investigate the overall structure and gas content of the galaxy. We use sensitive H alpha Fabry-Perot observations of the ionized gas to determine the star forming rates in ...

An Algebraic Approach to Light–Matter Interactions
This is a review of an algebraic approach to light–matter interactions that is theoretically powerful and computationally friendly. Theoretical expressions can be developed and manipulated conveniently thanks to the generality of the basis on which the approach rests, and a compact notation.

The Impact of Bar-induced Noncircular Motions on the Measurement of Galactic Rotation Curves
We study the impact of bar-induced noncircular motions on the derivation of galactic rotation curves (RCs) using hydrodynamic simulations and observational data from the PHANGS-ALMA survey.

Plant growth–promoting bacteria found in the plant roots and rhizosphere stimulate growth and reduce plant diseases through various direct and indirect mechanisms. They are proven as efficient biofertilizers that enable farmers to reduce or eliminate the use of expensive and environmentally harmful chemical fertilizers.
