Visualising and quantifying intestinal permeability -where do we stand

open access: yesAnnals of Hepatology, 2021
Intestinal permeability is getting more and more attention in gastrointestinal research. Although well recognized, its exact role in health and disease is yet to be defined.

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Pricing Formula for Exotic Options with Assets Exposed to Counterparty Risk

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2017
This paper gives analytical formulas for lookback and barrier options on underlying assets that are exposed to a counterparty risk. The counterparty risk induces a drop in the asset price, but the asset can still be traded after this default time.

Efficient Option Pricing under Levy Processes, with CVA and FVA

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, 2015
We generalize the Piterbarg (2010) model to include 1) bilateral default risk as in Burgard and Kjaer (2012), and 2) jumps in the dynamics of the underlying asset using general classes of L'evy processes of exponential type.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Analysing time-fractional exotic options via efficient local meshless method

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
In this article, we analyse the numerical simulation of the time-fractional Black-Scholes model governing butterfly spread option, digital option and double barrier option.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

PENENTUAN HARGA JUAL OPSI BARRIER TIPE EROPA DENGAN METODE ANTITHETIC VARIATE PADA SIMULASI MONTE CARLO

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2018
The purpose of this research is to compare the selling price of down and out barrier option when the prices are simulated by the Antithetic Variate Monte Carlo and the standar Monte Carlo.

Pricing European Vulnerable Options with Jumps and Stochastic Default Obstacles Barrier under Regime Switching

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this paper, we propose an enhanced model for pricing vulnerable options. Specifically, our model assumes that parameters such as interest rates, jump intensity, and asset value volatility are governed by an observable continuous-time finite-state ...

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.
