Barrier and well width study of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum wells
1997 Digest of the IEEE/LEOS Summer Topical Meeting: Vertical-Cavity Lasers/Technologies for a Global Information Infrastructure/WDM Components Technology/Advanced Semiconductor Lasers and Applications/Gallium Nitride Materials, Processing, and Devices (C, 2002InGaN multiple quantum wells have proven critical for the achievement of laser diodes in the (Ga,Al,In)N system. We have studied the effects of barrier width and well width in MQW structures for use in laser diodes.

THE WIDTH RATIO OF TWO BARRIERS IN RESONANT TUNNELING
Modern Physics Letters B, 2003Numerical calculations by a transfer matrix method have been performed to obtain the transmission coefficient of rectangular double barrier structures. The dependence of the well width, barrier width and the barrier height was systematically investigated.

Evolution of the Pulse Width in Dielectric Barrier Atmospheric Pressure Discharge
Plasma Science and Technology, 2012A study of the evolution of the pulse width in homogeneous dielectric barrier discharge at atmospheric pressure with helium as the working gas is reported by using a one-dimensional fluid model. In this paper, a new computational method is presented to estimate the pulse width through calculating the time interval between the breakdown voltage and the ...

Research on High Crashworthiness Level Bridge Barrier with Limited Working Width
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013The distance between barriers of lower deck and bridge piers of upper deck is small in Luotang River Double-Deck Viaduct. And so impact accidents with barriers of lower deck will result in vehicle frontal impact with bridge piers of upper deck, which will cause serious consequences for the main structure of bridge.

Well Width Determination in Rectangular Double‐Barrier Quantum‐Well Structures

Development and Testing of the Manitoba Constrained Width Tall Wall Barrier
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2017This project in Manitoba, Canada, developed a single-slope concrete barrier system with a height of 1,250 mm and a base width of no more than 600 mm. Configurations for bridge rail, roadside, and median barrier applications were developed and optimized to minimize installation costs while satisfying the AASHTO Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware ...

Effective sweep-width for barrier missions against an evasive target
The Journal of Defense Modeling and Simulation: Applications, Methodology, Technology, 2019An effective sweep-width, to be used in predicting the performance of a barrier patrol against a smart, evasive intruder is defined. Following Washburn’s example for a two-dimensional area search, the nominal sweep-width of the searcher is reduced to account for the target’s evasive ability.

The dependence of the interband tunneling current on AlSb barrier widths is studied in the InAs/AlSb/GaSb single-barrier diode structures. The experimental results show that the peak current density displays an exponential dependence on the barrier width.

Brownian motion through potential barriers with different shape, width, and height
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1993The Brownian motion in different piecewise linear (‘‘triangular’’ and ‘‘step like’’) and in piecewise parabolic metastable potential profiles are considered. The exact life times of the metastable states are presented and discussed. The limitations of the Kramers’ formula are given.
