Determination of selenium speciation in the muscle, kidney, and liver from different animals treated with different selenium supplements by HPLC‐ICP‐MS

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 67-81, February 2026.
Dietary selenium (Se) deficiency is recognized as a global problem, and exogenous Se supplementation can effectively enrich its levels in animal bodies. Offal tissues are equally important as meat in Se enrichment. Varying properties among Se species require information beyond total Se concentration to fully evaluate health risk/benefits.

Agrestal Environments and Maternal Genetic Effects Weaken the Ecological Barriers for Crop to Wild Introgression in Sunflower

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We highlight how agrestal environments and maternal effects may facilitate the adaptation of crop‐wild hybrid sunflower to agroecosystems. We present two consecutive years of data on diverse wild and reciprocal crop‐wild hybrid sunflower populations planted in three contrasting, ruderal or agrestal, environments. We found that (i) agrestal environments

Boom‐Bust Dynamics Drive Community‐Wide Dietary Structuring in Desert‐Dwelling Raptors

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We investigated how boom‐bust productivity dynamics affected dietary structuring within raptor communities of an arid bioregion. We found that higher productivity was associated with high dietary overlap, lower niche breadth and greater foraging on small mammals; however, raptors that were nomadic exhibited greater specialisation regardless of ...

Fertility and Early Embryonic Development Toxicity of hzVSF‐v13 in Sprague–Dawley Rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 2, Page 560-568, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Humanized virus suppressing factor–variant 13 (hzVSF‐v13), a monoclonal IgG4 antibody, is a potential therapeutic candidate for COVID‐19. Although fertility and embryonic developmental toxicity studies are crucial for the safety evaluation of new drugs, the toxicological profile of hzVSF‐v13 remains unexplored.

Nutrients, Metals, and Carbon in Soils Irrigated With Treated Versus Untreated Wastewater

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, Volume 189, Issue 1, Page 131-142, February 2026.
Transitioning from untreated to treated wastewater irrigation reduced soluble N and P but enhanced Cr, Fe and Ni mobilization in long‐term wastewater‐irrigated Mezquital Valley soils, highlighting soil‐type‐dependent effects. ABSTRACT Background Reuse of wastewater for irrigation can mitigate pressure on water resources and support closing nutrient ...

Return to performance criteria in soccer after musculoskeletal injury: A scoping review

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 2, Page 724-751, February 2026.
Abstract Return to performance (RTPe), the final stage of the return to sport (RTS) continuum remains poorly defined in current soccer‐related musculoskeletal (MSK) research, with limited identification and application of physical and/or psychological performance‐based indicators.

Study 19 (MCI186‐19) Post Hoc Analyses

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue S1, Page S19-S22, February 2026.
ABSTRACT While randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are the gold standard for evaluating the efficacy of therapies in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), post hoc analyses can provide critical insights into clinical effectiveness, treatment durability, and subpopulation responses.
