Inversion based fault detection and isolation

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
In this paper the design of detection filters for fault detection and isolation in linear systems by means of dynamic inversion is addressed. This approach is based on the left inverse and arrives at detector architectures whose outputs are the fault signals while the inputs are the measured system inputs and outputs and possible their time derivatives.

Implementing Isolation for Service-Based Applications

2009
Loosely-coupled distributed systems can be difficult to design and implement correctly, with time-of-check-to-time-of-use flaws arising from the lack of isolation being of particular concern. It is not feasible to use traditional distributed ACID transactions to solve such problems because the business activities being integrated are typically long ...

Magnetic Bead-Based Isolation of Exosomes

2014
Exosomes are here defined as extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the approximate size range of 30-100 nm in diameter, and are observed in most body fluids containing typical exosomal markers such as CD9, CD63, and CD81. Potential subpopulations of exosomes can be captured by targeting these markers using magnetic beads.

Paper-Based for Isolation of Extracellular Vesicles

2017
Paper-based devices chemically functionalized with capturing molecules enable the isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from samples of limited amount. Here, we describe the isolation of EV subpopulations from human serum samples.

BASE ISOLATION FROM A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE

2017
For the development of better design approaches to protect buildings from earthquake damage, base isolation, to reduce the seismic energy impacting on the structure, has represented a change of paradigm since it came to the fore in the second half of the last century.
