Steerable pyramid-based face hallucination

Pattern Recognition, 2005
In this paper we propose a robust learning-based face hallucination algorithm, which predicts a high-resolution face image from an input low-resolution image. It can be utilized for many computer vision tasks, such as face recognition and face tracking.

Resolution enhancement based on laplacian pyramid

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2010
Increasing pixel resolutions on displays are a current trend of consumer products. Lower resolution images can be input to these kinds of products. In this case, we have to enlarge the input images. Usually, large scale integration (LSI) and an application specified chip (ASIC) for consumer products enlarge input images by linear processes.

Permanence-based shape decomposition in binary pyramids

Proceedings 10th International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing, 2003
An algorithm to decompose hierarchically bidimensional patterns is introduced. The single-scale input pattern is first transformed into a multi-scale data set. The multi-resolution skeleton is then computed and its hierarchical decomposition is obtained by using the notion of permanence.

Nonlinear Pyramid Transforms Based on Median-Interpolation

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2000
Summary: We introduce a nonlinear refinement subdivision scheme based on median-inter-polation. The scheme constructs a polynomial interpolating adjacent block medians of an underlying object. The interpolating polynomial is then used to impute block medians at the next finer triadic scale.
