Reactivity of Ferrocenylcarbodiimide with DNA Duplex Containing Single-mismatched Base Pairs
Ferrocenylcarbodiimide (1), which is known to react with a guanine (G) or thymine (T) base of single stranded DNA, was allowed to react with DNA duplex having a single mismatched base pair of G-T, T-T, or T-cytosine (C). Electrophoreograms of the reaction mixture showed that 1 could react with G or T base of the mismatched sites on the DNA duplex ...

Effect of Single Mismatches at 3′–end of Primers on Polymerase Chain Reaction
Objective and Method – To investigate the effect of three different mismatches (G/T, G/A or G/G) at the 3•– end of a primer to amplify a 268 bp (base pair) region of the human •–globin gene using different annealing temperatures (45 to 65•C).

Of the DNA bases, the hydrogen bonding characteristics of guanine (G) are complementary only to those of cytidine (C) and, similarly, the hydrogen bonding characteristics of adenine (A) are complementary only to those of thymine (T) (Fig. 1). This is the fundamental basis of Watson-Crick base pairing in DNA and ensures the extremely high fidelity of ...

Adsorption models of hybridization and post-hybridisation behaviour on oligonucleotide microarrays
Analysis of data from an Affymetrix Latin Square spike-in experiment indicates that measured fluorescence intensities of features on an oligonucleotide microarray are related to spike-in RNA target concentrations via a hyperbolic response function ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

The properties of Msh2-Msh6 ATP binding mutants suggest a signal amplification mechanism in DNA mismatch repair. [PDF]
DNA mismatch repair (MMR) corrects mispaired DNA bases and small insertion/deletion loops generated by DNA replication errors. After binding a mispair, the eukaryotic mispair recognition complex Msh2-Msh6 binds ATP in both of its nucleotide-binding sites,

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...
