A unifying model for microRNA-guided silencing of messenger RNAs
Silencing by the miRNA-guided RNA induced silencing complex (miRISC) is dependent on Ago2-chaperoned base pairing between the miRNA 5′ seed (5′S) and a complementary sequence in the 3′ untranslated region of an mRNA.

On the Doubly hydrogen bonded dimer of 7-azaindole (0.1 M) as a model for DNA base pairs in acetonitrile solutions at rt [PDF]
Multiple H-bonded base-pairing as a fundamental element of DNA structure was first described by Watson and Crick using stable keto tautomer forms. In their analysis, they considered the possibility of mutations via tautomeric proton transfer shifts ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Capturing alternative secondary structures of RNA by decomposition of base-pairing probabilities
Background It is known that functional RNAs often switch their functions by forming different secondary structures. Popular tools for RNA secondary structures prediction, however, predict the single ‘best’ structures, and do not produce alternative ...

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Thermodynamics of base pairing
The study of the thermodynamics of base pairing is a rapidly expanding field due to its importance for taking advantage of opportunities presented by the growing database of nucleic acid sequences. Both natural and unnatural nucleic acids are being studied.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Metal-ion binding and metal-ion induced folding of the adenine-sensing riboswitch aptamer domain [PDF]
Divalent cations are important in the folding and stabilization of complex RNA structures. The adenine-sensing riboswitch controls the expression of mRNAs for proteins involved in purine metabolism by directly sensing intracellular adenine levels ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

RNS arithmetic in 𝔽pk and application to fast pairing computation
In this work, we are interested in arithmetic on large prime field and their extensions of small degree. We explain why it is very interesting to use RNS arithmetic for the base field 𝔽p when computations in 𝔽pk have to be done, essentially thanks to ...
