Dynamic Modeling and Real-time Management of a System of EV Fast-charging Stations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Demand for electric vehicles (EVs), and thus EV charging, has steadily increased over the last decade. However, there is limited fast-charging infrastructure in most parts of the world to support EV travel, especially long-distance trips. The goal of this study is to develop a stochastic dynamic simulation modeling framework of a regional system of EV ...

Skin calcium deposits in primary familial brain calcification: A novel potential biomarker

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Primary Familial Brain Calcification (PFBC) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by small vessel calcifications in the basal ganglia. PFBC is caused by pathogenic variants in different genes and its physiopathology is still largely unknown. Skin vascular calcifications have been detected in single PFBC cases, suggesting

Cerebral autoregulation in patients with acute lacunar infarction: a reliable predictor of outcome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To further investigate the association between dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA) and the outcomes in patients with acute lacunar infarction. Methods Patients were prospectively and consecutively enrolled at The First Hospital of Jilin University between 2016 and 2023. dCA was monitored at 1–3 and 7–10 days after the stroke.

A TOF and TDOA underground joint positioning method based on UWB

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
The existing precise positioning system for mining personnel mainly adopts UWB positioning technology. The positioning method that only applies TOF requires joint ranging and orientation based on two positioning sub stations or antennas, which has ...

BASE STATIONS FOR DIFFERENTIAL GPS

open access: yes, 2023
As a result of the development of science and technology in the last decade, it was possible to determine the spatial position of points using a new modern satellite method, and to check the accuracy of networks with high accuracy. Nowadays, it is possible to determine the spatial accuracy of points on the earth's surface with the help of satellites ...

Music Interventions in Hyperacute and Acute Stroke Patients: A Randomized Controlled Pilot Feasibility Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Music interventions have been shown to have beneficial effects on hemodynamic parameters, pain, and anxiety in various medical settings. However, music interventions in the setting of acute stroke have not been studied. The objective of this trial was to perform a pilot feasibility study of music interventions in the setting of acute

Green Base Station Assignment for NOMA-Enabled HCNs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, for the heterogeneous cellular networks (HCNs) with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), we mainly concentrate on the design of green base station (BS) assignment integrating with power allocation.

Slotted Aloha for Networked Base Stations with Spatial and Temporal Diversity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We consider framed slotted Aloha where $m$ base stations cooperate to decode messages from $n$ users. Users and base stations are placed uniformly at random over an area. At each frame, each user sends multiple replicas of its packet according to a prescribed distribution, and it is heard by all base stations within the communication radius $r$.

Effectiveness of a Telephone‐Delivered Walk With Ease Program on Arthritis‐Related Symptoms, Function, and Activity: A Randomized Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Walk With Ease (WWE) is a six‐week arthritis‐appropriate evidence‐based physical activity program traditionally offered in a face‐to‐face format. Because many populations encounter participation barriers to in‐person programs, WWE was modified for telephone delivery (WWE‐T).
