Calibrated muscle models improve tracking simulations without enhancing gait predictions.
ObjectivesThis study presents two main aims: (i) to assess functionally-calibrated musculoskeletal models (FCMs) in both tracking and predictive simulations of human motion, against non-linearly scaled models (NSMs), and (ii) to examine the effects of ...

Fault-free validation of a fault-tolerant multiprocessor: Baseline experiments and workoad implementation [PDF]
In the future, aircraft employing active control technology must use highly reliable multiprocessors in order to achieve flight safety. Such computers must be experimentally validated before they are deployed.

AgCrP2S6 reveals a momentum‐indirect band edge (≈1.35 eV) and chain‐locked linear dichroism: the first direct transitions emerge at 1.6–1.8 eV for E||a. Resonant Raman and photoemission corroborate this assignment. In ACPS/graphene heterostructures, photocurrent turns on above ≈1.5 eV and follows the same polarization selection rules (anisotropy ≈0.53),

Self-assessment in machines boosts human Trust
Low trust in autonomous systems remains a significant barrier to adoption and performance. To effectively increase trust in these systems, machines must perform actions to calibrate human trust based on an accurate assessment of both their capability and

MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

A comprehensive study on the largest amplitude traceable short gravimetric calibration line in China
Relative gravimeter must be calibrated periodically on a gravimetric calibration line with a tiny uncertainty. We created a new gravimetric calibration baseline with a 326 milligal gravity difference in Jiugong Mountain, central China.

Quantum radio astronomy: Quantum linear solvers for redundant baseline calibration
The computational requirements of future large scale radio telescopes are expected to scale well beyond the capabilities of conventional digital resources. Current and planned telescopes are generally limited in their scientific potential by their ability to efficiently process the vast volumes of generated data.

From Bug to Feature: Harnessing Cross‐Sensitivity for Multiparametric Luminescence Sensing
Cross‐sensitivity in luminescence sensing is reframed from a limitation into a resource for multiparametric detection. Using ruby microspheres as a model system, cross‐sensitivity is quantitatively assessed and exploited through linear discriminant analysis, enabling simultaneous, correction‐free pressure and temperature sensing with a single ...
