Circulating tumor DNA monitoring and blood tumor mutational burden in patients with metastatic solid tumors treated with atezolizumab

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

Profile identification via weighted related metric scaling : an application to dependent Spanish children [PDF]

open access: yes
Disability and dependency (lack of autonomy in performing common everyday actions) affect health status and quality of life, therefore they are significant public health issues.

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Molecular imaging predicts trastuzumab‐deruxtecan (T‐DXd) response in head and neck cancer xenograft models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

Loss of primary cilia promotes EphA2‐mediated endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in the ovarian tumor microenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of primary cilia in endothelial cells promotes EndMT and vascular abnormalities in the ovarian tumor microenvironment through EphA2 activation. Using human samples, in vitro models, and endothelial‐specific Kif3a‐knockout mice, we show that primary cilia loss drives the acquisition of cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like phenotypes, thereby ...

Occupational Therapy Treatments and Upper Extremity Motor and Self-Care Outcomes of Patients Post-CVA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Cerebrovascular accident (or stroke) afflicts approximately 550,000 Americans per year. It is estimated that three million U.S. citizens live with the disabling effects of strokes, which can limit function in one or more of the following areas: mobility,

Strategies to reduce the cancer burden and improve access to effective and affordable cancer interventions in Europe

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Comprehensive cancer centre (CCCs) and CCCs of Excellence (CCCoE) integration in healthcare. Through outreach to surrounding community hospitals, CCCs enable wider access to top‐clinical cancer treatments and care, thereby facilitating the swift enrolment of patients into data‐rich clinical trials (PI‐initiated trials testing new concepts, drug ...

Investigation of the Relationship between Trunk Muscle Strength and Hand Grip Strength with Basic Activity Daily Living and Instrumental Activity Daily Living In Stroke Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between both trunk muscle and handgrip strength with the basic daily living and instrumental activities in stroke patients. Methods and Materials: The study included randomized 28 stroke patients (23 males, 5 females) with an average age of 52.1 ± 12.2 years old.

Multimodal Reaching-Position Prediction for ADL Support Using Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This study aimed to develop daily living support robots for patients with hemiplegia and the elderly. To support the daily living activities using robots in ordinary households without imposing physical and mental burdens on users, the system must detect the actions of the user and move appropriately according to their motions.
