Gamma-gamma density measurements: basic response and environmental corrections

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1989
The basic response of a gamma-gamma density logging tool and the environmental corrections to that response have been determined. This has been accomplished through the use of test formation data and Monte Carlo modeling. The basic response has been determined for formation densities of 1.6 g/cm/sup 3/ to 3.1 g/cm/sup 3/. Environmental corrections have

Testing basic phenomenological models of nuclear level density

Physics of Particles and Nuclei, 2006
The problem of phenomenological description of nuclear level density is analyzed on the basis of testing the most important models: the Fermi gas and the generalized superfluid models and their modifications. Experimental data and numerical results for different characteristics related to the description of the level density as a function of excitation

Basic principles of electron density fluctuations in a plasma

Plasma Physics, 1977
The collective fluctuation spectrum of the electron density in a plasma is calculated by a method which does not utilize a specific kinetic equation, and relies only on the following three very general principles: the linear response of a plasma to a weak electric field, the Nyquist theorem, and the principle of causality in the form of the Hilbert ...

Density of basic rocks at very high pressures

Eos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1958
The densities of two gabbros and one dunite bave been measured at several pressures in the range from 150 to 750 kilobars (1 kilobar = 986.9 atmospheres). These pressures were attained in shock fronts generated by high explosives. The densities were computed from the observed shock waves.

The Analysis of Electron Densities: From Basics to Emergent Applications

Chemical Reviews
The electron density determines all properties of a system of nuclei and electrons. It is both computable and observable. Its topology allows gaining insight into the mechanisms of bonding and other phenomena in a way that is complementary to and beyond that available from the molecular orbital picture and the formal oxidation state (FOS) formalism ...

Density Functional Theory: Basic Results and Some Observations

1985
We review first the basic results of density functional theory: the lemma of Hohenberg and Kohn establishing the density n(r) as a sufficient variable for a description of a non-degenerate or degenerate ground state; the energy variational principle, including recent reformulations by Levy and Lieb; the self-consistent Kohn-Sham equations and the most ...

The Density Matrix and its Basic Applications in NMR

2020
I hope we now established some qualitative physical concepts and pictures about the fundamentals of NMR after the first three chapters. This chapter will introduce the basics of quantitative analysis of NMR experiments by quantum mechanics. A good background in linear algebra will be very beneficial, even if you have no prior knowledge of quantum ...
