ABSTRACT Regulated rivers represent complex hydrological systems where groundwater–surface water interactions are governed by natural conditions and human interventions. This study investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics of groundwater–surface water exchanges in the Nechako River, British Columbia (Canada), using numerical simulations.

Identification of basins of attraction in the local Universe
Structure in the Universe is believed to have evolved out of quantum fluctuations seeded by inflation in the early Universe. These fluctuations lead to density perturbations that grow via gravitational instability into large cosmological structures.

Tree canopy height is a key indicator of forest biomass and structure, yet accurate mapping across the Amazon remains challenging. Here, we generated a canopy height map of the Amazon forest at ~4.8 m resolution using Planet NICFI imagery and a deep learning U‐Net model trained with airborne LiDAR data.

Numerical methods to determine the basin of attraction for autonomous equations focus on a bounded subset of the phase space. For non-autonomous systems, any relevant subset of the phase space, which now includes the time as one coordinate, is unbounded ...

Camera traps have become an increasingly popular non‐invasive alternative to animal‐attached devices for studying wildlife behaviour. This study compared wolf (Canis lupus) activity patterns derived from collar accelerometers and road‐positioned camera traps and revealed strong overall agreement but also important seasonal and diel mismatches between ...

Multi‐Platform Deployments of Low‐Cost Devices for Cetacean Passive Acoustic Monitoring
Recent advances in affordable, user‐friendly devices offer new opportunities to overcome cost constraints of underwater passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) and expand acoustic data collection. In this study, we deployed low‐cost acoustic recorders and underwater cameras across a range of platforms in the Western Mediterranean, including fishing gear ...

Abstract Nepal's vast hydropower potential is central to its long‐term economic development; however, it exhibits pronounced spatial heterogeneity and is increasingly vulnerable to climate‐induced risks. This study employs an integrated, Basin‐scale analytical framework to evaluate the hydrological productivity and economic viability of major river ...

Basin of Attraction of Associative Memory as it Evolves from Random Weights
. We apply genetic algorithms to fully connected Hopfield associative memory networks. Previously, we reported that a genetic algorithm can evolve networks with random synaptic weights to store some number of patterns by pruning some of its synapses. The

ABSTRACT The dynamic nature of small islands being geographically isolated and their perceived connectedness with global networks complicates research attempts to draw general conclusions on whether insularity leads to marginalization or strengthens their resilience for sustainable development.
