The Basis of Oncoimmunology [PDF]
Cancer heterogeneity, a hallmark enabling clonal survival and therapy resistance, is shaped by active immune responses. Antigen-specific T cells can control cancer, as revealed clinically by immunotherapeutics such as adoptive T-cell transfer and checkpoint blockade.

Let \(n= \pi_1+\pi_2+\cdots+ \pi_l\), \(\pi_1\geq \pi_2\geq\cdots\geq \pi_l\), \(\pi_i\) a positive integer. Then the partition \(\pi= (\pi_1,\dots, \pi_l)\) has weight \(n\). \textit{H. Gupta} [Fibonacci Q. 16, 548-552 (1978; Zbl 0399.10017)] defined a basis partition, that, in the class of all partitions with fixed rank vector, has minimum weight ...

The Motor Basis for Misophonia [PDF]
Misophonia is a common disorder characterized by the experience of strong negative emotions of anger and anxiety in response to certain everyday sounds, such as those generated by other people eating, drinking, and breathing. The commonplace nature of these "trigger" sounds makes misophonia a devastating disorder for sufferers and their families.

Structural Change in Forward Contracting Costs for Kansas Wheat
Farmers use forward contracts to eliminate adverse price and basis movements prior to harvest. Since late 2007, the local basis for Kansas wheat has changed dramatically relative to historic levels, causing greater risk exposure for elevators offering ...

There is much controversy around homeopathy about the mode of action of homeopathic medicine. The possibility of getting a single molecule of the original drug is reduced when in higher dilution, for example: above 12c potencies. The homeopathic system followed the principle of the law of similars.

Interoceptive Basis to Craving [PDF]
Awareness of one's physiology is an important component of emotion. How might these processes be related to addiction? In a recent issue of Science, Naqvi et al. demonstrated that smoking addiction is disrupted by damage to the insula cortex. This suggests that brain circuits mediating interoception also contribute to craving states.

On Classes of Hyperfunctions of Rank 2 Generated by Maximal Multiclones
The research of multifunctions is a one of the directions in discrete function’s investigations. Multifunction is a discrete function from a finite set A to all subsets of A. The set of hyperfunctions is a subset of set of multifunctions.

In compressive sensing, the basis pursuit algorithm aims to find the sparsest solution to an underdetermined linear equation system. In this paper, we generalize basis pursuit to finding the sparsest solution to higher order nonlinear systems of equations, called nonlinear basis pursuit. In contrast to the existing nonlinear compressive sensing methods,

Collocations in Letters to the Editor of Die Zeit
In the field of phraseology collocations have been less extensively researched than idioms. Because of their lower degree of idiomaticity collocations do not normally cause receptive problems in foreign language learning but need to be paid attention to ...

Osmosis is an important force in all living organisms, yet the molecular basis of osmosis is widely misunderstood as arising from diffusion of water across a membrane separating solutions of differing osmolarities, and hence different water concentrations.
