Inverse theorem for the Szász-Durrmeyer operators

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2009
In the present paper we establish direct and inverse local properties for the Szász-Durrmeyer operators. These operators are introduced in [1] and independently considered in [4] as the generalized integral operators proposed by S.M. Mazhar and V.

An experimental flow regime map to dynamically structure gas–solid bubbling fluidized beds

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 71, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract Employing oscillatory gas flows to create ordered bubble dynamics in fluidized beds represents a promising approach in reactor design, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and control. This study reports an extensive experimental campaign that identifies the operational regime for structuring Geldart B fluidized beds, introducing a novel pattern

Approximation of complex q-Beta-Baskakov-Szász-Stancu operators in compact disk

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
The purpose this study is to present and investigate the qq-Beta-Baskakov-Szasz-Stancu operator. The operators are accompanied by Voronovskaja-type consequences, which include both an exact approximation order and a quantitative assessment, specifically ...

Characteristics and outcomes of older patients undergoing out‐ versus inpatient surgery in Europe. A secondary analysis of the Peri‐interventional Outcome Study in the Elderly (POSE)

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 69, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Background The number of older patients undergoing surgical procedures with anaesthesia care is projected to rise. In order to cope with the increased demand, the expansion of outpatient surgery may play a decisive role. We aim to investigate the characteristics and outcomes of the older outpatient population.

Curves defined by a class of discrete operators: Approximation result and applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 2388-2403, 30 January 2025.
In approximation theory, classical discrete operators, like generalized sampling, Szász‐Mirak'jan, Baskakov, and Bernstein operators, have been extensively studied for scalar functions. In this paper, we look at the approximation of curves by a class of discrete operators, and we exhibit graphical examples concerning several cases. The topic has useful

A Bernstein‐Like Trigonometric Basis: Properties, Curve Design, and Operator Construction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
We introduce a novel family of trigonometric basis functions equipped with a shape parameter, analogous to Bernstein functions. These basis functions are employed to construct Bézier‐like curves, termed “trigo‐curves”, which retain the fundamental properties of classical Bézier curves while offering enhanced shape control through parameter adjustment ...

Approximation Properties of a New Class of Beta‐Type Szász–Mirakjan Operators

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
We use the new variant of Szász–Mirakjan operators to construct a generalized version of Szász‐beta type operators and obtain auxiliary lemmas. We present the weighted approximation theorems and, by using Peetre’s K‐function, the local approximation results of these operators are studied.

Asymptotic expansions for variants of the gamma and Post–Widder operators preserving 1 and xj

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 18, Page 13718-13733, December 2024.
Recently, the authors constructed operators acting on a space of functions defined on [0,∞)$$ \left[0,\infty \right) $$ and preserving 1 and xj$$ {x}^j $$ for a given j∈ℕ$$ j\in \mathrm{\mathbb{N}} $$. To this end, they considered suitable modifications of the Post–Widder and gamma operators.

Multivariate error function based neural network approximations

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2014
Here we present multivariate quantitative approximations of real and complex valued continuous multivariate functions on a box or \(\mathbb{R}^{N},\) \(N\in \mathbb{N}\), by the multivariate quasi-interpolation, Baskakov type and quadrature type neural ...

Resource Constraints Lead to Biased Attention but Decrease Unethical Behavior

open access: yesJournal of Behavioral Decision Making, Volume 37, Issue 4, October 2024.
ABSTRACT Subjective experiences of resource scarcity can make individuals short‐term oriented, capture attention, and trigger feelings of unfairness. However, the impact of scarcity on information processing and ethical decision‐making remains poorly understood. This eye‐tracking study explored how acute financial scarcity affects selective information
