Deficiency of Leucine‐Rich Repeat Containing G Protein‐Coupled Receptor 4 in Pancreas Reduces β Cell Mass

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In islet β cells, LGR4 binds with Rspondin to activate the Wnt‐β‐catenin‐Ccnd1 axis, leading to a subsequent increase in cell proliferation. On the other hand, LGR4 also binds with RANKL, thus suppressing the phosphorylation of p44/p42 MAPK and p65 NF‐κB and subsequent cell apoptosis.

NRF2‐REGγ‐ACADM/KLF15 Signaling Pathway Regulates the Browning of White Adipose Tissue to Modulate Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that REGγ is elevated in obese adipose tissue. REGγ modulates WAT browning via ubiquitin‐independent ACADM/KLF15–UCP1 degradation. Overactivation of the NRF2–REGγ axis facilitates adipose tissue function to cause obesity. Inhibition of REGγ in the iWAT alleviates HFD‐induced obesity.

Cosmic X-ray background and Earth albedo Spectra with Swift/BAT

open access: yes, 2008
We use Swift/BAT Earth occultation data at different geomagnetic latitudes to derive a sensitive measurement of the Cosmic X-ray background (CXB) and of the Earth albedo emission in the 15--200 keV band. We compare our CXB spectrum with recent (INTEGRAL,

Swift reveals the eclipsing nature of the high mass X-ray binary IGR~J16195-4945 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
IGR J16195-4945 is a hard X-ray source discovered by INTEGRAL during the Core Program observations performed in 2003. We analyzed the X-ray emission of this source exploiting the Swift-BAT survey data from December 2004 to March 2015, and all the ...

An Effective Oral Drug Delivery Route for Pharmacokinetic Complications: Spirulina Lipid Nanotechnology System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Spirulina‐nano system facilitates the formation of drug coating on spirulina's surface through electrostatic adsorption. It targets intestinal villi effectively and overcomes the pharmacokinetic complications of IBS‐D. This system successfully carried out the treatment of multiple symptoms, including diarrhea, visceral hypersensitivity, mental symptoms,
