Methyl glycosides via Fischer glycosylation: translation from batch microwave to continuous flow processing [PDF]

open access: yesMonatshefte für Chemie - Chemical Monthly, 2018
A continuous flow procedure for the synthesis of methyl glycosides (Fischer glycosylation) of various monosaccharides using a heterogenous catalyst has been developed. In-depth analysis of the isomeric composition was undertaken and high consistency with corresponding results observed under microwave heating was obtained.

Intensification of Processes for the Production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients: Increase in Safety and Sustainability

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2023
Fine chemical compounds and so-called "specialties" are generally synthesized through batch or semi-continuous processes. This is largely because such syntheses often involve complex and highly exothermic reactions, to be performed in semi-batch reactors

Platinum‐Catalyzed Alkene Hydrosilylation: Solvent‐Free Process Development from Batch to a Membrane‐Integrated Continuous Process

open access: yesChemSusChem, 2021
AbstractThe integration of a membrane separation protocol with the platinum‐catalyzed hydrosilylation of olefins is investigated. The catalytic reaction is first optimized in batch where [Pt(IPr*)(dms)Cl2] (IPr*=1,3‐bis[2,6‐bis(diphenylmethyl)‐4‐methylphenyl]imidazol‐2‐ylidene, dms=dimethyl sulfide) demonstrates superior activity compared to the less ...

Optimal Design and Operation of Buffer Tanks Under Stochastic Conditions

open access: yesHungarian Journal of Industry and Chemistry, 2018
Safety regulations demand the elimination of random mistakes and the reliable operation of production units. However, the control and maintenance of batch and semi-continuous processes haalways been difficult.

Effect of feeding methods on the astaxanthin production by Phaffia rhodozyma in fed-batch process

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2005
The effect of feeding methods on the production of astaxanthin by the yeast Phaffia rhodozyma ATCC 24202 was studied, using continuous and pulsed fed-batch processes and low cost materials as substrates (sugar cane juice and urea).

Fouling of Flow Reactors in Organolithium Mediated Transformations: Experience on Scale-up and Proposed Solution

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2019
Continuous processing has been demonstrated to be a superior approach when applied to fast and energetic chemical transformations. Indeed, whereas classical batch or semi-batch methods require cryogenic conditions and slow addition rates of ...
