Petrogenesis of the Late Ordovician Penggongmiao biotite monzogranite in southern Hunan, south China: constraints from geochronology, geochemistry, and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopes

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Penggongmiao complex pluton, located in the Nanling metallogenic belt of South China, provides a critical record of Early Paleozoic (Caledonian) magmatism, but the genesis and mineralization potential of the biotite monzogranite of the pluton have ...

Progressively Fenitised Schist and Carbonatitic Clasts From a Metasomatic Aureole Beneath the Alkalic Dunedin Volcano, Otago, New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Clasts of albite‐porphyroblastic quartzofeldspathic schist, derived from the Otago Schist basement, occur within the Port Chalmers Breccia, a diatreme at the centre of the Dunedin stratovolcano, New Zealand. Schists have undergone varying degrees of replacement reactions (at temperatures of 300° to >500°C) producing hornfelses, with Ca‐ and K‐enriched ...

Pleistocene and Holocene Mobility of Detrital Platinum in Southern New Zealand: Review and Regional Synthesis

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Detrital platinum group minerals (PGM) are rare and distinctive in Pleistocene–Holocene sedimentary systems of the southern South Island, thereby enabling tracking of their long‐distance transport for ∼200 km. The first ∼100 km of transport involved Pleistocene glaciofluvial processes southwards down the Waiau River, where PGM (principally Pt–Fe and Ru–

1.90-1.88Ga arc magmatism of central Fennoscandia: geochemistry, U-Pb geochronology, Sm-Nd and Lu-Hf isotope systematics of plutonic-volcanic rocks from southern Finland

open access: yesGeologica Acta, 2016
The earliest Svecofennian magmatism in southern Finland has been dated at 1.90-1.88Ga. As an example of this, the Orijärvi (ca. 1.89Ga) and Enklinge (ca.

Seismic imaging of the critical zone of dolerite dykes at Cap Fréhel in Brittany (France)

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 262-288, June 2026.
Abstract In June 2023, we measured ten near‐surface seismic profiles to image the critical zone of dolerite (diabase) dykes that cut the sandstone at Cap Fréhel in Brittany (France). Seismic ray tracing and inversion are used to determine the thickness of the regolith layer from first‐arrival P‐wave traveltimes.

Petrology and Geochemistry of the Heron Bay Area Granites, Superior Province, Northwestern Ontario.

open access: yes, 1979
The Heron Bay area, located in the Wawa Belt of the Superior Province in northwestern Ontario, contains portions of three granitoid batholiths. Petrographic and chemical analysis revealed that nine different phases existed among the three batholiths:

The United States Magnetotelluric Array and the National Impedance Map

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract The United States Magnetotelluric Array (USMTArray) data set, collected in the years 2006–2024, consists of more than 1,700 long‐period magnetotelluric stations covering the entirety of the contiguous United States on a quasi‐regular 70 km grid.

Long-lived Neoproterozoic high-K magmatism in the Pernambuco-Alagoas Domain, Borborema Province, northeast Brazil

open access: yes, 2016
The Pernambuco-Alagoas (PE-AL) Domain contains major granitic batholiths typified by a wide range of TDM model ages (Archaean to Neoproterozoic), reflecting the important role of quartzofeldspathic plutons attending the Brasiliano (Pan-African) Orogeny.
