Holes in the ocean: Filling voids in bathymetric lidar data
Computers & Geosciences, 2011The mapping of coral reefs may be efficiently accomplished by the use of airborne laser bathymetry. However, there are often data holes within the bathymetry data which must be filled in order to produce a complete representation of the coral habitat. This study presents a method to fill these data holes through data merging and interpolation.

On the accuracy of digital bathymetric data
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 1993The global 5‐arcmin gridded topography data ETOPO‐5 are based on contour maps rather than original soundings and have large errors. The artificial statistical distribution generated by digitizing contours makes these data unsuitable for use in regression models for depth‐age variations.

Fast trend extraction and identification of spikes in bathymetric data
