Connecting the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation to the Southern Ocean Following the Closure of Equatorial Seaways During the Cenozoic

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Global ocean circulation regulates climate and has undergone significant changes over the Cenozoic. Today, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) is driven by North Atlantic Deep Water (NADW) formation and Southern Ocean upwelling.

Practical Differences Between Photogrammetric Bathymetry and Physics-Based Bathymetry

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2022
Optical satellite remote sensing (RS) is a time- and cost-effective approach for shallow-water bathymetry over large areas. The photogrammetric and physics-based methods, which do not require in situ depth calibration data, are two implementations of RS-based bathymetry.
