Temperature‐dependent electron diffraction on tin monochalcogenides demonstrates a gradual displacive transformation between ferroelectric and paraelectric phases with significant variability in lattice constants and Curie temperature (TC). Periodic variations exist even between domains in individual crystals, implying a domain‐specific Curie ...

Bloch-type Domain Walls in Rhombohedral BaTiO3
Ferroelectric domain walls (FDWs) are usually considered to be of Ising type, but there have been suggestions in recent years that Bloch-type FDWs are also possible in some cases, e.g., in the rhombohedral phase of BaTiO3. The mechanically compatible and

Lattice dynamics of BaTiO3, PbTiO3 and PbZrO3: a comparative first-principles study [PDF]
The full phonon dispersion relations of lead titanate and lead zirconate in the cubic perovskite structure are computed using first-principles variational density-functional perturbation theory, with ab initio pseudopotentials and a plane-wave basis set.

A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

Polarization-controlled modulation doping of a ferroelectric from first principles [PDF]
In a ferroelectric field effect transistor (FeFET), it is generally assumed that the ferroelectric gate plays a purely electrostatic role. Recently it has been shown that in some cases, which could be called 'active FeFETs', electronic states in the ...

Diffusion–Model–Driven Discovery of Ferroelectrics for Photocurrent Applications
We developed a diffusion model–based generative AI and high‐throughput screening framework that accelerates the discovery of photovoltaic ferroelectrics. By coupling AI driven crystal generation with machine learning and DFT screening, we identified Ca3P2 and LiCdP as new ferroelectric materials exhibiting strong polarization, feasible switching ...
