Building Your Dream Team: How Indie Teams Can Form, and Thrive Together [version 1; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research
The majority of indie game development teams are driven by the desire to produce a blockbuster game. But there are many obstacles on the way to realizing this desire, especially in the beginning. It is possible to create a game alone, but more often than

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

Reconstructing Residual‐Solvent‐Involved Li+ Coordination in PVDF‐HFP Polymer Electrolytes for Stable Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2,2,2‐trifluoroethanamide‐mediated coordination regulation reconstructs the local Li+ environment in PVDF‐HFP polymer electrolytes by weakening residual DMF‐dominated coordination and promoting TFSI−‐involved anion‐rich solvation. This strategy facilitates Li+ migration and interfacial desolvation, promotes the formation of a thin inorganic‐rich SEI ...

Preferential Interfacial Engineering of Hydrogels via Interdigitated Nanoparticle Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Robust surface functionalization of hydrogel surfaces is performed via interdigitated metal nanoparticle assembly, inducing strong affinity with the hydrogel matrix. The partially exposed nanoparticle domains act as interfacial nanobridges that mediate both chemical and physical bonding with diverse materials, including small molecules, fluorous ...

Lead acid batteries modeling and performance analysis of BESS in distributed generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this thesis, a methodology to accurately determine the state of charge (SOC) of a lead acid battery is proposed by calculating the integration of the net current flow through the battery at given time, t.

Comparative Performance and Partial Load Cycling of Sodium‐Metal Chloride Battery Modules With Mixed‐Metal Fe,Zn and Ni,Fe Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainable Na‐(Fe,Zn)Cl2 battery modules deliver discharge energies comparable to state‐of‐the‐art Na‐(Ni,Fe)Cl2 batteries through high active‐material utilization, although with lower power capability. Advanced electrochemical characterization reveals a distinct reaction mechanism and low resistance during Fe dechlorination.
