2018 4th International Conference on Computational Intelligence & Communication Technology (CICT), 2018
In this paper we have discuss about different characteristics of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EES), their types and analyze technical and economic points. Today our conventional energy sources are depleting regularly and these sources will last for 50–150 years. To shift our dependence from these conventional sources (fossil fuels like petroleum,

Taming Wind Energy with Battery Storage
2008The use of wind to generate electrical energy is becoming more popular around the world as global efforts are made to deal with green house gas emissions from more traditional sources of energy. In Australia wind energy is one of the technologies being promoted by mandatory renewable energy targets set by the government [1].

Battery Energy Storage Systems
2015 North American Power Symposium (NAPS), 2015Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming more popular due to their positive attributes such as flexibility, lower cost, modularity, etc. This paper provides a mathematical approach to quantify its financial and operational impacts. Specifically, two test cases are investigated: intermittency mitigation of a solar farm using a BESS and optimal

Active Battery Management System for Home Battery Energy Storage
2020 21st International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2020The home battery energy storage systems (ESSs) are expanding worldwide together with the renewable energy sources (especially solar power plants). As the energy sourced by the different power sources (sun, wind, electrical grid) has to be stored inside the ESS the electrochemical cells (batteries) are usually used.

Prospects and Limits of Energy Storage in Batteries
The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2015Energy densities of Li ion batteries, limited by the capacities of cathode materials, must increase by a factor of 2 or more to give all-electric automobiles a 300 mile driving range on a single charge. Battery chemical couples with very low equivalent weights have to be sought to produce such batteries.

Control of battery storage for wind energy systems
2012 American Control Conference (ACC), 2012This paper presents an optimization-based control strategy for the power management of a wind farm with battery storage. The strategy seeks to minimize the error between the power delivered by the wind farm with battery storage and the power demand from an operator. In addition, the strategy attempts to maximize battery life.
