All‐Solution‐Processed HgTe Quantum Dot Photodetectors for Extended Short‐Wavelength Infrared Range Enhanced by Plasmonic ITO Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Decentralized Control for Heterogeneous Battery Energy Storage System

open access: yesCoRR
Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) are essential for stable power supply in renewable energy systems that can operate in all weather. Future BESSs will be massive and pluggable with several heterogeneous batteries. In this paper, a novel decentralized control method for a heterogeneous BESS is proposed, in which each battery autonomously operates ...

Energy Management System for a Grid-Connected Microgrid with Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System

open access: yes, 2018
A microgrid (MG) is an energy system composed of renewable resources, energy storage unit and loads that can operate in either islanded or grid-connected mode. Renewable resources should be scheduled to manage load demand and power flow within MG.

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Research in Science and Technology
The global transition towards renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, is imperative for a sustainable future. However, their inherent intermittency and non-dispatchability pose significant challenges to grid stability and reliability. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) have emerged as a critical technological solution to this challenge ...

Transient Charging of Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors by Anomalous Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores charge transport in mixed ionic‐electronic conductors (MIECs) through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and transient current analysis. Focusing on PEDOT:PSS, WO3, and n‐doped PBDF, it uncovers the impact of anomalous diffusion via fractional modeling. The study reveals key correlations that deepen understanding and guide the
