Improved Thermal Battery Performance.

1979
Abstract : During the course of this program, Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. has developed a thermal battery which has demonstrated an energy density in excess of 17 watt-hours per pound. This advancement of approximately three times the energy density of thermal batteries was accomplished with the lithium aluminum iron disulfide system.

Polyrotaxanes could boost battery performance

C&EN Global Enterprise, 2017
Replacing the anode in commercial lithium-ion batteries with a silicon-based version could improve how much charge a battery can hold. But silicon anodes have been difficult to develop because they massively expand and contract as a battery charges and discharges, causing particles in the anode to break apart and the battery to fail. Now, a team led by

Increasing Lead Battery Performance Efficiency

2019
An active research and development initiative in the secondary lead industry has produced a new lead alloy enabling lead batteries to function at 2× current performance standards. The need for this new lead is in response to elevated temperatures due to the new duty cycles common for rechargeable batteries.

Performance of battery-powered airships

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2007
The performance of airships using battery and fuel cell power sources for propulsion is investigated. A parametric analysis is used to determine the mass breakdown of several, helium-filled, pressurized, non-rigid design concepts, in order to estimate maximum power source mass.

Schizophrenic performance on the Halstead-Reitan battery

Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1978
Compared Halstead-Reitan Battery scores of hospitalized male schizophrenics with scores of normals and brain-damaged Ss to determine performance patterns that differentiate the groups. Schizophrenics performed less well than normals on the Categories, TPT-Memory, and TPT-Location subtests and better than brain-damaged Ss on all subtests except ...

Lithium-Sulfur Battery Safety Performance

ECS Meeting Abstracts
Lyten’s revolutionary 3D Graphene is enabling the transition to a greener future through its high energy density lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Li-S batteries also promise increased safety compared to that of Li-ion chemistries. As Li-S batteries move towards commercial application, it becomes critical to understand and characterize the safety ...

A new high performance battery-operated electrometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2007
Design and analysis of a new low-noise, fast-response, high-sensitivity, compact electrometer are described. This electrometer are battery operated and capable of measuring currents down to the femtoampere level. The portable, high performance nature of the electrometer renders it applicable for deployment in compact instruments for applications such ...

High-Performance Phosphorus–Graphite Dual-Ion Battery

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2019
Recently, dual-ion batteries (DIBs) are regarded as a promising alternative to well-developed lithium-ion batteries, and the development of high-performance and abundant-sodium-based DIBs (SDIBs) is being intensively pursued. In this work, a novel SDIB composed of a phosphorus (P)-based anode and graphite (G) cathode is successfully constructed for the
