From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Battery electronification: intracell actuation and thermal management
AbstractElectrochemical batteries – essential to vehicle electrification and renewable energy storage – have ever-present reaction interfaces that require compromise among power, energy, lifetime, and safety. Here we report a chip-in-cell battery by integrating an ultrathin foil heater and a microswitch into the layer-by-layer architecture of a battery

Electrochemical abuse transforms thermal runaway behavior in lithium‐ion batteries. Through systematic decoupling of degradation mechanisms, this study reveals that lithium plating lowers the onset temperature by 10 °C, electrolyte consumption delays high‐temperature reactions, and capacity fade reduces total heat generation. These mechanistic insights
