Characterisation and modelling of anisotropic hardening behaviour of cubic and hexagonal close packed polycrystalline metals

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine Letters
In this study, anisotropic non-proportional hardening behaviour of the sheet metals with different crystalline structures is investigated. The investigated materials particularly exhibit the Bauschinger effect and complex transient hardening behaviour ...

Finite strain viscoplasticity with nonlinear kinematic hardening: phenomenological modeling and time integration

open access: yes, 2007
This article deals with a viscoplastic material model of overstress type. The model is based on a multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient into elastic and inelastic part.

Bauschinger effect and coercivity in dual-phase steels

open access: yesChinese Physics Letters, 1984
Initial flow stresses and coercivities during and after tension and tension plus compression in ferrite-martensite dual phase steels have been measured. It was found that both parameters for tension plus compression are smaller than those for tension only. For the flow stress, this phenomenon is called Bauschinger effect.

Analysis of ultra low cycle fatigue problems with the barcelona plastic damage model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a plastic formulation based on the Barcelona plastic damage model ([1], [2]) capable of predicting the material failure due to Ultra Low Cycle Fatigue.

A viscoplasticity model with an enhanced control of the yield surface distortion

open access: yes, 2012
A new model of metal viscoplasticity, which takes combined isotropic, kinematic, and distortional hardening into account, is presented. The basic modeling assumptions are illustrated using a new two-dimensional rheological analogy.

A Transition State Theory-Based Continuum Plasticity Model Accounting for the Local Stress Fluctuation

open access: yesMetals
Based on the transition state theory, a continuum plasticity theory is developed for metallic materials. Moreover, the nature of local stress fluctuation within a material point is considered by incorporating the probability distribution of the stresses.
