Performance of silica-supported copper oxide sorbents for SOx/NOx-removal from flue gas II. Selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide by ammonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitric oxide by ammonia was studied for silica-supported copper oxide particles to be used as a sorbent/catalyst in a continuous process for the simultaneous removal of SOx and NOx from flue gases.

Freshwater amphibians and squamates from Villeveyrac (lower Campanian; Hérault, France): palaeodiversity, palaeoenvironment and implications for the Late Cretaceous palaeobiogeography of the European herpetofauna

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 12, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract The Late Cretaceous witnessed numerous transgression–regression sequences and the onset of a global cooling phase at the start of the Campanian. In the European archipelago, these environmental changes, combined with active plate tectonics, facilitated the formation of ephemeral land bridges that served as dispersal routes for a variety of ...

Comparing Active Bed Materials in a Dual Fluidized Bed Biomass Gasifier: Olivine, Bauxite, Quartz-Sand, and Ilmenite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Active bed materials are in this work investigated for in situ gas upgrading of biomass-derived gas. Previous research on in situ gas upgrading has focused on assessing gas quality, in terms of the concentrations of tar and permanent gases. Other aspects

Mullite production by valorization of a hydrodesulphurization catalyst waste

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 1, January 2026.
Due to its high alumina and silica content, Ni–Mo catalyst waste is a suitable, amorphous raw material for producing aluminosilicate phases. Thermal treatment of the waste at 1200°C for 30 min yields a material containing 50 wt.% mullite and exhibiting 96% overall crystallinity. The addition of amorphous silica significantly enhances mullite formation:

Potential for kaolin and bauxite in the near-littoral sediments of the State of Amapá, Eastern Guiana Shield, northern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of the Geological Survey of Brazil
In Amapá, northern Brazil, there is potential for large and not yet identified economical deposits of kaolin and bauxite in the Cenozoic belt of sediments that cover the margins of the Eastern Guiana Shield next to the Atlantic Ocean and the Amazon ...

Fine Bauxite Recovery Using a Plate-Packed Flotation Column

open access: yesMetals, 2020
In this investigation, the fine-grained bauxite ore flotation was conducted in a plate-packed flotation column. This paper evaluated the effects of packing-plates on recovering fine bauxite particles and revealed the fundamental mechanisms.

Frictional Performance of Concrete Pavement Under Combined Water Accumulation and Cyclic Loading

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
To explore the evolution mechanism of friction performance in concrete pavement under the coupled effects of water accumulation and cyclic loading, a self‐developed submerged friction testing system is designed for systematically analyzing the influence mechanism of water temperature, cyclic loading, and interface characteristics through an integrated ...

The Impact of Government Policies on Urban Employment in Small Economies [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
[Excerpt] Most of the policies intended to affect urban employment are not specifically employment policies nor are they specifically urban. Rather, the amount of urban employment, the composition of that employment, and the returns from it are ...
