Indo–Western Pacific Tropical Heating Anomalies Regulate the Cross‐Pacific Atmospheric River Highways During Boreal Summer

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract Atmospheric rivers (ARs) constitute a global, interconnected highway network rather than isolated regional events. In boreal summer, cross‐Pacific ARs originate over Southeast Asia, are fueled by subtropical outflows from the Asian monsoon plume, transport warm, moist air across the North Pacific, and make landfall in North America (NA).

Pre-Monsoon Cyclogenesis Over Bay of Bengal

open access: yesInternational Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering (IJRTE), 2019
Cyclonic disturbances in the Bay of Bengal are natural, recurrent, and a regular devastator to the east coasts of Ceylon and India (especially to Odisha coast), Bangladesh and Myanmar. The destruction depends upon the frequency, intensity, place of formation, life span in Bay, SST, ENSO, El Nino Modoki, Indian Ocean Dipole, boreal summer atmospheric ...

Climate change and its risk reduction by mangrove ecosystem of Bangladesh [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Climate change is amongst the most dreaded problems of the new millennium. Bangladesh is a coastal country bounded by Bay of Bengal on its southern part and here natural disasters are an ongoing part of human life.

Marine Dynamics and Productivity in the Bay of Bengal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Bay of Bengal provides important ecosystem services to the Bangladesh delta. It is also subject to the consequences of climate change as monsoon atmospheric circulation and fresh water input from the major rivers are the dominating influences ...

Synchronisation of Extreme Precipitation and Sea Surface Temperature Events in the Northern Hemisphere: A Complex Network Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 3, 15 March 2026.
Using complex network theory and event synchronisation, we find distinct spatiotemporal structures of extreme precipitation and sea surface temperature events across the Northern Hemisphere. Our results show strong local and long‐range connectivity in terrestrial extremes, driven by atmospheric dynamics, contrasting with more localised marine extremes ...

Expanding Knowledge of Sea Pen (Octocorallia: Pennatuloidea) Diversity and Distribution Through Integrative Taxonomy: Insights From Hong Kong's Coastal Waters

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Based on a combined molecular and morphological analysis, this study identifies nine sea pen species in Hong Kong's waters, including three newly described species. The findings provide new DNA sequences and clarify phylogenetic relationships, support revisions to Pennatuloidea systematics, and update species distributions in the Northwest Pacific ...

Evolution and Global Transmission of a Multidrug-Resistant, Community-Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Lineage from the Indian Subcontinent

open access: yesmBio, 2019
The evolution and global transmission of antimicrobial resistance have been well documented for Gram-negative bacteria and health care-associated epidemic pathogens, often emerging from regions with heavy antimicrobial use.

Dietary Patterns and Their Association With Body Fat Percentage Among Ready‐Made Garment Workers in Dhaka and Chattogram, Bangladesh

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ready‐made garment workers in Bangladesh show high rates of overweight, elevated body fat, and micronutrient deficiencies, linked to carbohydrate‐ and festive food–rich diets, highlighting the need for targeted workplace nutrition interventions to improve diet quality and reduce obesity‐related health risks.
