Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Equilibrium and Welfare Analysis in Second-Price Auctions with Resale and Costly Entry

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2022
This study investigates the effects of resale allowance on entry strategies, seller’s expected revenue, and social welfare in a second-price auction with two-dimensional private information on values and participation costs.

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Parametric and nonparametric inference in equilibrium job search models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Equilibrium job search models allow for labor markets with homogeneous workers and firms to yield nondegenerate wage densities. However, the resulting wage densities do not accord well with empirical regularities.

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Pure Bayesian Nash Equilibria for Bayesian Games with Multidimensional Vector Types and Linear Payoffs

open access: yesGames
In this work, we study n-agent Bayesian games with m-dimensional vector types and linear payoffs, also called linear multidimensional Bayesian games. This class of games is equivalent with n-agent, m-game uniform multigames.

Bayesian Methods for Examining Hardy–Weinberg Equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesBiometrics, 2010
Summary Testing for Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium is ubiquitous and has traditionally been carried out via frequentist approaches. However, the discreteness of the sample space means that uniformity of p‐values under the null cannot be assumed, with enumeration of all possible counts, conditional on the minor allele count, offering a computationally ...

The use of Bayesian inversion to resolve plasma equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2010
Recently, Bayesian probability theory has been used at a number of experiments to fold uncertainties and interdependencies in the diagnostic data and forward models, together with prior knowledge of the state of the plasma, to increase accuracy of inferred physics variables.

Thermally Pre‐Formed Reconfigurable Resistive Random‐Access Memory Crossbar Arrays: A Dual‐Mode Platform for Robust Physically Unclonable Functions and In‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable RRAM platform utilizing thermally pre‐formed filaments (TPFs) is developed to realize robust hardware security. By exploiting the thermodynamic stochasticity of TPFs, exceptionally reliable physically unclonable functions (PUFs) are achieved.
