This article seeks to outline the main elements in the historiographical controversy over the significance of ‘Spinozism’ as an eighteenth-century Enlightenment category and the validity or otherwise of the concept of ‘Radical Enlightenment’ as well as

Spring–Summer spatial dynamics of Palomena prasina (L.) and potential IPM strategies. ABSTRACT Palomena prasina (L.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), the green shield bug (GSB), is an important hazelnut pest in Southern Europe. Currently, its control focuses on insecticide spraying during the crop season. We hypothesized that, as for other pentatomid species,

Isoperimetric and stable sets for log-concave perturbations of Gaussian measures
Let $\Omega$ be an open half-space or slab in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ endowed with a perturbation of the Gaussian measure of the form $f(p):=\exp(\omega(p)-c|p|^2)$, where $c>0$ and $\omega$ is a smooth concave function depending only on the signed distance ...

Isoperimetric inequalities on slabs with applications to cubes and Gaussian slabs
Abstract We study isoperimetric inequalities on “slabs”, namely weighted Riemannian manifolds obtained as the product of the uniform measure on a finite length interval with a codimension‐one base. As our two main applications, we consider the case when the base is the flat torus R2/2Z2$\mathbb {R}^2 / 2 \mathbb {Z}^2$ and the standard Gaussian measure

Abstract Crop yield decline, primarily caused by soil erosion, is a major challenge in rain‐fed agriculture. Massive soil and water conservation (SWC) practices are conducted each year in the country of Ethiopia, including the study sites, to tackle the problems, but there is not enough information about the impacts those practices on crop yields in ...

How Rights Became "Subjective" [PDF]
What is commonly called a right has since about 1980 increasingly come to be called a subjective right. In this paper the origin and rise of this solecism is investigated. Its use can result in a lack of clarity and even confusion. Some aspects of rights-

Thermoplasmonic Response of Non‐Noble Metal Core–Shell Nanostructures for Solar Energy Harvesting
The plasmonic properties of Non‐Noble metal@Fe2O3 shell under visible and near‐infrared spectrum were calculated to quantitatively assess the photothermal conversion capability. The plasmonic response intensity and shell thickness relationship were analysed, and the maximum photothermal conversion and plasmonic intensity were summarized.

Strain and correlation of self-organized Ge_(1-x)Mn_x nanocolumns embedded in Ge (001)
We report on the structural properties of Ge_(1-x)Mn_x layers grown by molecular beam epitaxy. In these layers, nanocolumns with a high Mn content are embedded in an almost-pure Ge matrix. We have used grazing-incidence X-ray scattering, atomic force and
