Background: Juglone is a natural pigment, which has a cytotoxic effect against tumor cells. However, its cytotoxicity to human breast cancer cells (Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 [MCF7]) has not been demonstrated. Objective: The objective was to observe the effect of Juglone on the protein expression of caspase-3, 9 in the apoptosis of Human Breast ...

The interaction of BAX (BCL-2-associated X protein) with BIM (BCL-2 interacting mediator of cell death) SAHB (stabilized α helix of BCL2) directly initiates BAX-mediated mitochondrial apoptosis. This molecular dynamics study reveals that BIM SAHB forms a stable complex with BAX but it remains in a non-functional conformation.

AbstractlncRNAs are responsible for a variety of diseases, including gastric cancer (GC). Many recent studies have reported that lncRNAs can serve as crucial regulators of various genes. Nevertheless, the biological function of lncRNA damage induced noncoding (DINO) remained poorly investigated in GC.

A-Type Cinnamon Procyanidin Oligomers Protect Against 1-Methyl-4-Phenyl-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydropyridine-Induced Neurotoxicity in Mice Through Inhibiting the P38 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase/P53/BCL-2 Associated X Protein Signaling Pathway [PDF]
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder. Cinnamon procyanidin oligomers (CPOs) are flavonoids with many claimed health benefits. This study aimed to elucidate the neuroprotection of A-type CPOs (CPO-A) and the underlying mechanisms in cultured cell and animal models of PD.Thirty male mice (C57BL/6, 9-wk old) were assigned to 3 ...
