Four New Species of Cunaxidae — Morphology and Ecological Preferences (Acariformes: Prostigmata: Bdelloidea)

Abstract. Five prostigmatic mite species from the family Cunaxidae are recorded in Hungary. Four of them: Cunaxa polita Kazmierski et Ripka sp. nov., Cunaxa subita Ripka et Laniecka sp. nov., Cunaxa minuta Laniecka et Kazmierski sp. nov. and Cunaxoides ornatus Kazmierski et Laniecka sp. nov.

AbstractWe present a morphological feature-based key for the genus Otostephanos and describe two new species, O. jolantae sp. nov. and O. ukrainicus sp. nov. For O. jolantae sp. nov. we analysed the intraspecific morphological variability and provided the barcodes of mtCOX1 mitochondrial gene.

NEW SYNONYMS OF THE SUBFAMILY AND GENUS RANKS IN THE FAMILY CUNAXIDAE (ACARI: BDELLOIDEA)

Based on the examination of females and males of Armascirus taurus, collected from Cuba, we have confirmed a complete similarity between the genera Armascirus Den Heyer and Brevicaudus Chen and Jin, as well as between subfamilies Cunaxinae Oudemans and Cunaxicaudinae Chen and Jin.
